What is the difference between OCS grad night and comms ball? Sorry i’m going army next year and this seems like a convenient place to get info about it.
There is no grad night. I think you might be referring to Social night. Social night is in the middle of your course, Comms ball is after you’ve commissioned as an officer. Social night is more of an exercise in honing your social skills whereby you bring along a date and interact with other cadets and their dates or even your instructors. It’s more of a standing cocktail kind of event whereby you hold your drinks/food and walk around and blah blah. But depending on the people it could turn out to be “Awkward Night’ instead. Comms ball is sort of like a graduation ceremony whereby it’s really a ball with a host and programmes and actual dining and a dance at the end and stuff like that. It’s basically for us to look back on the thigns we’ve been through. I’ve not had mine yet so well, I can’t really tell you how it’s like.
